Always great so far! But the last time we were there (last October weekend), the food was very disappointing. Venison goulash with 5 puny, small pieces and the Kaiserschmarrn pancake daily, not fluffy and therefore not good. Maybe the cook was sick. New chance, possibly after the lockdown, whether the previous quality can be found back. We hope so.
The Christmas duck was very tasty and very productive. The other dishes, whether with meat or vegetarian, which I have already tried, were very good. It's great that this collection is available and that you can bring the containers with you, which saves a lot of plastic waste. The staff is very nice too.
Update! Was back just before the lockdown. What can I say, absolute disaster. Had burger with still frozen fries and a "Gröstl" which didn't deserve the name. Bringing that to the guest borders on insolence .. pure fat and an oily / greasy sauce on top, you can't do more than let it stand. Then ordered a Kaiserschmarren because it was very tasty before, this time it was burnt and without sugar. When you asked the waitress if you could do it again, this gentleman just said "no, it should be like that". In general, the service was a mess. Nothing more going on in the restaurant and still it took 25 minutes to clear away the plates and then another 20 minutes to bring the bill. What bothered me a lot, however, is that the waiter ran around at 9:55 pm and wanted to talk everyone with one last drink because after that the curfew would begin. Old: Very good Bavarian inn. The Kaiserschmarren is a stunner and Augustiner is served. Leaves no wish unfulfilled!
In the restaurant, the minimum distance between the tables is not observed. Less than a meter from chair to chair. Are home after a short time. Didn't feel safe anymore. Very loud as everything was full, especially in the next room.
A very cozy place, I had dinner in this place by myself, ok it's quite noisy but because all guests enjoy the ambience and food. Speaking about food, I got a slice of beef on a bed of string beans and fried onion with bacon gravy, very delicious, unlike some comments I read, I feel the proportion between meat and veggies is good, the dish comes with pan fried boiled potatoes in a separate cup, very nice. I got a dessert called Kaiserschmarrn, people, this stuff is amazing, served on its cooking pan, hot and full of different textures, fluffy pancakes, some part with a nice crust, the raisin, the syrup with a touch of liquor and a delicious apple sauce aside that you can pour as you like. I definitely recommend this place. Staff is nice and gentle.
We visited here Friday 16th October 2020, we'd nipped to Baumkirchner (Ayinger) and Schneider Weisse first and arrived here around 9pm. It's a little out of the city centre, to the east, in fact about 4-5kms out and would take the better part of an hour if you walked it. However there are public transport options to the centre, Innsbrucker Ring U-Bahn is the closest stop it's about 500metres away and on the U5 to/from Odeonsplatz will take 15-20 minutes. This is a nice place, very traditional and also popular with locals which I liked We sat on the left side as you enter and most folk on this side were just drinking. In fact there were quite a few men (all friends, I guess) drinking and having a great time. Lederhosen was being worn by a number of the locals and by the bar staff. The waiter who served us was really great, so good at his job, chatty, friendly and telling folk when they had to have last orders because of the current COVID-19 restrictions. The place inside was simply furnished, mostly wood and whilst they did food and reading the menu it looked great, this place had the feel of a real drinking venue. I had an Edelstoff which was really nice, however I wasn't so fussed about my Dunkel Weisse. Overall this place had easily the best atmosphere of the three places we visited tonight but Schneider Weisse Berg am Laim wins out with beer.
We come here quite often because we used to live nearby. Nice beer gardens in summer and nice taverns in winter. The service is almost always very nice and the food is also very good!
With two different dishes you couldn't complain at all because they were really delicious. Unfortunately the Keiserschmann was not as I expected ... a shame. The prices are still reasonable and the service was friendly and helpful. I will definitely visit this pub and recommend it to others
We have been here several times. The food is very good, the waitresses are all very friendly and attentive. The beer garden and the premises are very nice. We'll definitely be back soon.
Unfortunately we were more than disappointed. In the absence of alternatives in the area, we often visit the Echardinger Einkehr after work and the food was never bad, even if the quality fluctuated depending on the establishment. Today we were really very dissatisfied. We had to wait well over an hour for our food, which was finally served just so lukewarm. I had a Wiener Schnitzel and had to reorder cranberries, which were then also listed on the bill. After a good 80 minutes of waiting and only lukewarm food, an outrage.
In itself a great place, great service and good food, the pork knuckle is a poem. The spare ribs were unfortunately coated with a chili paste that I had to scrape down because otherwise it was super spicy ... Also, unfortunately, no portion that was justified for the price, in other local restaurants there are 2 rib sticks for the price ... The burgers in return are highly recommended and the rest of the food is great too!
It's always nice there. cozy atmosphere, nice service, fast and good service. I've never had to wait long! Every day people look out and ask if everything is okay. I will gladly come again.
Insanely cozy, very, very friendly, quaint, genuine Bavarian restaurant with EXTREMELY good cuisine! Augustiner Bräu speaks for itself and the service is unique in this class. The quality cannot be surpassed even by star hotels! Definitely addictive and you will definitely be a repeat offender here. Highly recommended! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻😋😋🥨🍖🍗🍺🍻🥂
They have the best roast pork with an excellent crust. Apricot dumplings for dessert.
A beautiful, small, well-kept beer garden. Delicious food, fairly priced, and attentive service. We will be back and can highly recommend this beer garden
Great ambience with good food at high prices. The restaurant has a great beer garden in a rustic ambience. Service was very friendly and courteous. We had a nice evening in the Echardinger Einkehr and would be happy to come back.
Nice little inn with beer garden in the middle of a residential area (but quiet). Service friendly and courteous. Unfortunately, the kitchen couldn't fulfill my request. I made my request to cook the meat through to the order: The response from the service was something like "Meat is always well done." Unfortunately it came to me partly raw inside. Unfortunately, the cake was a bit mushy. The berries were fermented. When asked whether it was alcohol, it was denied. Otherwise it tasted good food. There are individual dishes on the menu that are only available here. That is great. In addition, there are also classics of Bavarian / Alpine cuisine. Prices ok, sometimes a bit cheaper compared to similar restaurants.
During my visit to the Echardinger Einkehr today, I was served very friendly. As always, the Augustiner beer was outstanding. With the meal there was the homemade obazdn. This one tasted particularly good to me today. Just because it wasn't as spicy as usual, I liked it very much. I'll be back soon.
We love Echardinger retreats and have been here regularly since we moved to this area a few years ago. Regardless of whether inside (always very lovingly decorated according to the season) or in the beer garden: we just feel good! It is cozy, Bavarian and very warm! In all the time we have never noticed anything negative! The food is delicious, the price-performance ratio is right (especially for Munich standards!), The service is always courteous and the host family is also very nice! You just feel good here! All the friends we showed the restaurant have also become regular guests and are still grateful for the tip.
We were in the beer garden and felt comfortable there. The kitchen is good home cooking, lovingly arranged and flavorful. The service staff is courteous, but there were very few staff on the day, so you always had to wait a little until someone came to us. The prices were ok for Munich standards.
Lovely biergärten in the back with shady trees, that is open for seating or take-away. Great service - relaxed and friendly! Sometimes there's live music. Very good traditional Bavarian food and Augustiner beer of course
Nice beer garden restaurant located in a quiet neighbourhood area. A lot of choices of traditional Bavaria food and seasonal selections, even Vegans. Very good value beer. The food flavour is there but for most it could be a bit lack of intensity. e.g. my side dish basically was plain potato without any salt or spices. And the kaiserschmarrn we ordered was less sweet and buttery than the ones we ordered in other restaurants. It could be a good thing for health conscious people but maybe not for someone who is looking for rich and intense traditional German food.
Authentic german food recommended by German. We have tried many times the take-away during the quarantine time and the food quality is good. The amount is also big. Recommended!
My family and I were banned from going there. A very unfriendly waitress then gave my dog water with ice cubes and it happened that my dog urinated in it. We wanted to clean it but we got a big unfriendly out of the restaurant from the waitress. I don't think it's a shame to give us the chance to speak. I find it to meet such unfriendly waiters and waitresses.
Open for take-away during Corona with ice-cold Augustiner for only €2,20. Super friendly - will be back!
Good Food, was kind of slow with service.
Best typical Bavarian food I've ever had!! 100% reccomended, quiet area away from downtown.. Amazing place!! A+++
Large portion food and very good prices for Munich. The beer is Augustiner - pretty self-explanatory - it's awesome. They have some of the most jovial staff I've ever encountered in Germany here: super friendly, quick, and attentive. I will definitely be back for dinner again sometime!
Perfect for us as "foreigners": this is how we imagine Bavaria 🙂 Very cozy inn in a suitable ambience. The names of the varied dishes alone are to die for. The service on beds was very friendly, attentive and humorous on both evenings - someone likes doing his job here. The food is tasty and plentiful, the waiting time is amazingly short. Since we have it so nice, we were there twice and everyone tried and "experienced" something new Great.
Lovely traditional Bavarian food. Great beer.
Good food for good price ! Lots of dishes for 7€ for lunch. Vegetarian dishes available.
Chic
If you are in Munich and want a real German pub with real German food and beer with good prices then leave the tourist city centre area and give this place a go! I visited on a Monday night and the place was quite busy so I suspect you may have to book a table if you visit at the weekend. Staff were very welcoming. Thoroughly recommended!
Great traditional food
Simone and Aleks are organising our company barbecue summer party for many years. As usual this is a great success among our employees. Fabulous food, good beer and fantastic wine. This is not the usual sausage in a semmeln but a real buffet catering from meat lovers to vegetarian. Thanks to your team for making us feeling at home. The Reply management.
Everything you'd expect from a local beer garden and done very nicely. A bit of a hidden gem in the area.
Great!
Awesome little beer-garden with tasty authentic Bavarian food. Definitely recommending.
This is my new favorite Bavarian place. Very awesome dishes, esp. the spargel and schnitzel. I would recommend the schweizer schnitzel. The service is great.
good food and great Service

Good food and beer
I recommend the duck and the schweinaxe. The helles von Fass is everytime very welcome.
Great staff great food and well priced. Huge location with a lot of seats.
Really nice restaurant with sufficiently large beer garden for the summer time. The food is good as is the Augustiner Beer :-) The location is nice and quiet - within walking distance of U5 Michaelibad station.
Great german restaurant. The best pork knuckle I have ever ate.
